This time, we can truly speak of a resumption of flights to Algeria. A total of 108 new flights have been added to the Air Algérie program starting March 15, bringing the total number of international connections to over 160 per week.
By virtue of the principle of reciprocity, foreign airlines should obtain the same number of flights as Air Algérie, even though the Ministry of Transport did not mention it in its statement. Starting March 15, Algeria will be served by more than 320 international flights per week.
This is excellent news for Algerian travelers and a real breath of fresh air for Air Algérie. Adding 108 new weekly flights goes beyond expectations, reaching highly appreciable levels.
Looking at the content of the new schedule, it is clear that the authorities have responded favorably to Air Algérie’s requests.
Air Algérie Flights: France Takes the Lion’s Share
Indeed, besides the considerable number of added flights, the increase has mostly targeted high-demand routes where ticket prices had soared due to strong demand.
France remains the most served destination. New routes will now connect Béjaïa, Tlemcen, Sétif, and Annaba to France, in addition to Algiers, Oran, and Constantine, which already benefited from increased frequencies.
In France, four new airports will now be served by Air Algérie: Lyon, Toulouse, Nice, and Lille. There will also be additional flights to Marseille from Algiers, and new routes from Oran, Constantine, and Tlemcen. Paris will now be accessible from Béjaïa, Tlemcen, and Annaba.
Spain, another high-demand destination, is also part of the expansion. Flights to Barcelona will now operate seven times a week. For the first time since the reopening of borders, Air Algérie will operate flights to Madrid and Alicante.
Connections to Turkey have also been increased to seven flights per week. New routes such as Brussels have been added, while regular flights to Beijing will resume.
